Let me start by stating that I’m not promoting any products! What I write to share below is based strictly on my own experiences and as such, I won’t be responsible for any adverse development should it occur!

First you should head to a pharmacy to buy a bottle of the hair lotion that contains 5% minoxidil. This is the active ingredient that promotes hair growth. They come in 2%, 3% and 5% strength. I mentioned 5% because it it the strongest.

Every evening after washing your hair, blow to dry it. Once dried, apply the lotion to the root of the hair targeting the problem areas. Then gently massage the scalp. Remember no need to use force! Leave it on to dry itself off. No washing is needed. Repeat this procedure every day.

Depending on the individual, the following results could occur after 4 months:
1) current crop of hair gets thicker
2) less hair loss after washing
3) finally new hair growth

Because I dye my hair black, every 2 weeks I will need to re dye the base/roots it as it will grow to between 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch long!
The sad part I was told is that the minoxidil solution is successful only on 4 out of 5 persons. For the 5th person , it’s just a loss of money and effort. And for people with heredity hair loss, the application of minoxidil will only delay hair loss. Eventually they will still lose their crop of hair.

Minoxidil can be use by both sexes but it is said to be more effective on guys because of certain hormones.

For child bearing women they should not use minoxidil as it goes into their blood stream/milk glands.
And for severe hair loss on certain male, you should consult the GP on the use of Propecia tablets. It is said to be 4 times more potent! Both minoxidil and Procepia can be can administered at the same time.

Finally, as you will need to use it all the time, do shop around for the cheapest price! Branded version of the hair lotions are priced closed to $100 for a 60 ml bottle whilst the cheaper version I usually buy when on sale is around $50 for an 80 ml bottle. Yes you heard me right. Each 80 ml bottle will last me approximately 3 weeks. So it’s not too expensive as one would imagine to keep that crowning glory!
I wish you every success!
