Technique to solve this quiz

I learned the following technique to solve this type of problem, after practicing it for 10 times. With the technique, it is possible to solve this type of puzzle within 10 minutes.

Step 1. Create a matrix of 5 houses by 5 characteristics. Use Excel.

Step 2. Fill in the clues that can fit into a specific house.

Step 3. Fill in the next few clues that can easily fit into the matrix.

Step 4. Work out the houses that can fit the remaining clues

Swede, dog: 4 or 5
Dane, tea: 2 or 5
PMall, bird: 3, 4 or 5
BMaster, beer 2 or 5
German, prince 2, 4 or 5

By elimination, the German must live in house 4, the Swede in 5 and the Dane in 2.

Step 5. Now fill in the remaining clues.

Answer: The German keeps the fish
